Laurie Ormson is an artist, a collector of experiences。 She travels the world with a worn beige duffel bag。

Every mother has her own distinctive voice, her inimitable style, and her secrets。

Laurie’s mother is the famous “Dr。 Liz。” An elegant perfectionist。 She travels the world with a matched set of suitcases。

When Laurie invites her mother on a trip to Paris and Norway, she sees an unexpected sparkle in her mother’s eyes。 So begins Things I Wish I Told My Mother。 You will wish this novel never ends。

Laurie and Dr。 Liz are the female version of The Odd Couple。

Laurie and her mom, Liz (a。k。a。 renowned OBGYN to the stars) are two completely different women。 Things I Wish I Told My Mother is a beautiful story about a sometimes complicated mother-daughter relationship。 Liz experiences a health scare which prompts Laurie to suggest something out of the blue。 The two women decide to take a spontaneous trip to Paris and Norway。 Along the way they argue, laugh, cry, explore, and indulge on delicious cuisine。 But most importantly, they share。 They share secret Laurie and her mom, Liz (a。k。a。 renowned OBGYN to the stars) are two completely different women。 Things I Wish I Told My Mother is a beautiful story about a sometimes complicated mother-daughter relationship。 Liz experiences a health scare which prompts Laurie to suggest something out of the blue。 The two women decide to take a spontaneous trip to Paris and Norway。 Along the way they argue, laugh, cry, explore, and indulge on delicious cuisine。 But most importantly, they share。 They share secrets of their lives with the other as well as sometimes hard to admit feelings about being a mother or daughter。 The ending was not what I expected at all。 Kudos to the authors on a well-written book!!!I LOVED Things I Wish I Told My Mother! It gave me all the feels!!! Throughout the entire story I felt like I was thinking about my mom and our relationship。 Excuse me, while I go give her a call。。。Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown, and Company for the opportunity to read this gem! 。。。more

Things I Wish I Told My Mother will capture both mother and daughters hearts。This book will no doubt be a few Book Club's selections。I was hooked at the dedication of the book。Laurie and Dr Liz had me laughing, shedding a tear with the ladies and cheering them on。I thought of my own mom and I laughed all the harder。 I must say now my sister and I say we appreciate and understand her more today than we did growing up and we wished we could tell her so。I don't re read many books but this one I cer Things I Wish I Told My Mother will capture both mother and daughters hearts。This book will no doubt be a few Book Club's selections。I was hooked at the dedication of the book。Laurie and Dr Liz had me laughing, shedding a tear with the ladies and cheering them on。I thought of my own mom and I laughed all the harder。 I must say now my sister and I say we appreciate and understand her more today than we did growing up and we wished we could tell her so。I don't re read many books but this one I certainly will。I am preordering for my daughter and sister。 I cant recommend this book highly enough。 Thanks to NetGalley and Little Brown and Company for delightful and insightful read。 。。。more

I received an ARC, it was written seamlessly by 2 authors (& James Patterson) about relationships, especially between mothers & daughters, in fact I saw myself travelling on trips with my own mother。 By chapter 60 I figured the other shoe would drop and finished with watery eyes。

The settings are amazing on their own but the authors immerse you into them for the duration of this book。 The mother and daughter relationship will have you relating! I loved how the book was set up and the journey they take together overseas。 There's humor and sadness and a bunch of emotions! Won this book from a newsletter that I follow。 Easy to read with quick short chapters but also very predictable。 The only thing that I liked about the book was the unpredictable twist at the end。 I’m just happythat it was short and I didn’t waste a lot of time reading it。

I received an advance copy of this book for review。 It is the story of a mother/daughter trip and relationship Lucky me! I think mothers and daughters will identify with many of their interactions。 It was beautifully written。 I was able to picture the places they visited and foods they sampled on their travels and, most of all, their back and forth relationship。 It will be available in April。 Would make for a very good bookclub discussion。

3。5 stars。 I enjoyed the descriptions of Paris but didn’t appreciate or understand the obsession with Richard。 But then, I don’t really like romance fiction so that not surprising。

This is a delightful and highly relatable read about a mother/daughter relationship。 Lauren is an advertising executive at the top of her game。 She's creative, casual, late-thirties, divorced, adventurous and low maintenance。 She travels the world with a duffle bag。Her mother, Dr。 Liz, is an OB-GYN to the rich and famous, always dressed to impress, and a perfectionist。 She only travels with her complete set of matched luggage and couldn't be more high maintenance if she tried。The two are total o This is a delightful and highly relatable read about a mother/daughter relationship。 Lauren is an advertising executive at the top of her game。 She's creative, casual, late-thirties, divorced, adventurous and low maintenance。 She travels the world with a duffle bag。Her mother, Dr。 Liz, is an OB-GYN to the rich and famous, always dressed to impress, and a perfectionist。 She only travels with her complete set of matched luggage and couldn't be more high maintenance if she tried。The two are total opposites from each other。 Lauren has always found her mother to be hard to please and a bit distant。 They don't have the close relationship she has always hoped for。 A health scare of Liz's causes Lauren to offer to take the two of them on a two-week trip to Paris and Norway, her mother's homeland。 Told from Lauren's view, we experience the ups and downs of the trip (and relationship) where secrets are shared, ground gained and lost, and found again。A quick and most enjoyable read!My thanks to Little, Brown & Company for granting me access to a DRC via NetGalley。 All opinions expressed in this review are my own and are freely given。 The novel is scheduled to be published on 4/10/23。 。。。more

I absolutely loved this entire story and the little twist at the end was great! It is so easy for the reader to envision this story as their own relationship with their mother。 No sugar coating the struggles you have with each other and savoring all the great time together。 Such a great story and I highly recommend it !Thank you NetGalley, the authors and publisher for my ARC!

I really enjoyed the book up until the twist at the end。 The mother/daughter relationship was very interesting。 The locales, restaurants, and people Laurie and her mother met on the trip were entertaining。 If it weren’t for the twist at the end, I would have given it five stars。

What an interesting book。 First off I want to say thank you for receiving this free copy。 I always enjoy a book that involves James Patterson but this certainly was something different。 I envy the Mother and daughter that were able to be able to take such a beautiful trip to Paris and Norway。 That in and of itself would have been such a luxury for me and my Mother but never would have been possible because we never would have had the means。 Frankly it became a fantastic travelogue as they explor What an interesting book。 First off I want to say thank you for receiving this free copy。 I always enjoy a book that involves James Patterson but this certainly was something different。 I envy the Mother and daughter that were able to be able to take such a beautiful trip to Paris and Norway。 That in and of itself would have been such a luxury for me and my Mother but never would have been possible because we never would have had the means。 Frankly it became a fantastic travelogue as they explored each city and came away with so many amazing souvenirs and memories。 The ending was bittersweet though but I found this book to be well worth my time in reading it and I would definitely recommend it to you too。 。。。more

I am SPEECHLESS。 I honestly went into this one with little to no expectations, and I was truly blown away in the best way possible。 This is one book that will stay with me long after finishing。 Laurie and her mother, Liz, are the proverbial "Odd Couple" and are typically always at odds。 After a health scare for her mother, Laurie suggests they take a trip to Paris and Norway。 And so the adventure begins! They bicker, quarrel, fight, and love so hard all across the world's map。 It is the picture I am SPEECHLESS。 I honestly went into this one with little to no expectations, and I was truly blown away in the best way possible。 This is one book that will stay with me long after finishing。 Laurie and her mother, Liz, are the proverbial "Odd Couple" and are typically always at odds。 After a health scare for her mother, Laurie suggests they take a trip to Paris and Norway。 And so the adventure begins! They bicker, quarrel, fight, and love so hard all across the world's map。 It is the picture of most every mother and daughter relationship and is so relatable that you find your heart strings being tugged at in every scene。 The authors have truly painted a picture of the world with this one。 I felt as though I was living the trip with Laurie and Liz。 Every food, drink, and landmark was described with such vivid (accurate!) detail that I could almost envision myself there with them。 The highlight of the novel, though, came with the final twist that dropped my jaw and left me at a loss for words。 I couldn't believe what I was reading, but I knew I never wanted it to end。 This is may be the best book I have read all year!! It will definitely be in my top 5 by the year's end, easily。 I highly recommend this beautiful, exquisite tear-jerker for all readers。 It has something for everyone and no one will have a dry eye at the conclusion, but your heart will be oh-so full! This was an unexpected delight。 I never would have associated the name of James Patterson with a “woman’s” novel about the difficult relationship between Laurie and her mother Liz。 Mom is a well-known OB-GYN who has always been critical of her daughter。 After a heart event, they go on a journey to Paris and her mother’s native Norway。 Every moment of their journey kept me totally enthralled。 The fraught mother/daughter issues were so well done and nuanced that I felt like I could hear echoes of This was an unexpected delight。 I never would have associated the name of James Patterson with a “woman’s” novel about the difficult relationship between Laurie and her mother Liz。 Mom is a well-known OB-GYN who has always been critical of her daughter。 After a heart event, they go on a journey to Paris and her mother’s native Norway。 Every moment of their journey kept me totally enthralled。 The fraught mother/daughter issues were so well done and nuanced that I felt like I could hear echoes of my (and lots of other women’s lives)。 The details were exquisite and I felt transported to Paris and Norway。 This is a book that I highly recommend。 It is simply a trip that all of us will relate to。 Bravo!
